Message from the Mayor
Council met in January 2024 to review its progress on the priorities listed in our strategic plan. This one pager gives a quick overview of that progress. However, I would like to provide you with a bit of context.
Many actions have been dealt with through changes in our Official Plan and new bylaws. Both have been completed and are now waiting for ministerial approval. For instance, actions requiring changes in zoning or changes in permitted uses have been included in the new bylaws.
Other actions such as expanding the pedestrian network, or improving cycling conditions require us to work with planners, engineers or partners while other actions such as changes to the recreational vehicle regulations require us to look at the need for a bylaw enforcement service and may be done as a pilot for a year or two. We thank our staff for assisting in adding winter recreation through the provision of mixers for our community.
Each member of the Council has agreed to take on some of the actions for the coming year. Along with our staff, we plan to continue moving forward and developing our community in a positive way. Please do not hesitate to contact the office should you have any questions.
