Incorporated in 1990, the Resort Municipality is governed by an elected council and administered by a Chief Operating Officer, Administrative Assistant along with summer staff. The powers and responsibilities of municipalities in Prince Edward Island are governed by the Municipal Government Act and the Planning Act.
